In June 1994 the National Association
of Broadcasters (NAB) issued an industry-wide RFP for improved set-top
television antennas. Studies by NAB indicate that 60% of US television sets
still use an antenna for reception.
As a result of the technology partnership between
NAB and MegaWave, a new generation of television set-top antennas
was developed. The design has been featured on CNN and won a "Best of What's
New" award from Popular Science.
