Military Antenna Programs

In its military programs,
MegaWave is pursuing new
design paradigms which result in antennas that:
- Support multiple services
and simultaneous operation at multiple frequencies
- Provide performance competitive
with conventional antennas
- Can be manufactured in high
volume at very low cost
- Can be integrated into the
structures of automobiles, boats, aircraft, portable computers and handheld
devices
Are highly reliable
and maintenance free
Other areas of research in which MegaWave
has engaged includes work for the US Army and US Navy on the design of
advanced technology antennas based on the use of High Temperature Superconductor
devices.
The goal of this research is a future generation
of antennas offering:
- Compact HF/VHF antennas with improved efficiency
- Small, conformal, reconfigurable antennas
which support multiple operating modes including wideband spread spectrum
and fast frequency hopping operation
Other MegaWave research areas include:
- Development of genetically optimized antennas
- Direction finding antennas
- Detection of portable electronic devices
on-board aircraft
